A larger-than-life personality and deeply cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend peacefully departed our world on April 1, 2021. Clyde was born in San Juan, Texas, and as a child relocated with his family to Oregon City, Oregon. He graduated from Milwaukie High School where he met his high school sweetheart, best friend, and future wife Ruth.
Clyde served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He had a successful 30-year career with US West in various management positions, retiring as Group Manager of Pay Phone Installation & Repair. He then held Sales positions at Benner-Nawman, which enabled him to travel to England, Canada, and the U.S. with his wife Ruth. His volunteer work included a City of Milwaukie committee that planned and financed a new Public Safety Building.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Lucille Ruby, and brothers Gerald, Robert, and Charles. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruth, children Lynn Davis (Brian), Jeff (Tracy), Scott (Annette Paoli), and Leslie (Thomas Larson), nine grandchildren, sisters Doris Grycko, Jean Womelsduff, and countless family and friends with whom he shared many laughs.
Clyde loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, gardening, reading, motorcycling, bowling, making others laugh, and spending time with his family. He was entertaining, caring, patient, and was dedicated to his family. His love will forever be remembered by all who were fortunate to have known him. A celebration of life gathering will be held during the summer.
