Dorothy Louise Igo

Dorothy Louise Igo passed away passed away Wednesday, October 5th. She was born to Edna Kulp and Loren T Runkle in Holton, Kansas. Her family moved to Oregon City in 1942 when she was a sophomore. She graduated from Oregon City High School in 1945. Dorothy was a princess for the Oregon City Chamber of Commerce float in the 1947 Rose Festival Parade. In 1950, she married Bob Igo. They owned Oregon City Printing and Stationary, which Bob’s father opened in 1925. Dorothy sold the store in 1982. She enjoyed her winters at her home in Kauai, Hawaii and spent the rest of the year in Oregon City. Dorothy is survived by her brother, Dean L. Runkle of California; daughter-in-law Debbie Igo-Stewart of Coffman Cove, Alaska; grandson Benjamin G. Igo of Tillamook, Oregon; granddaughter Rebecca A. Sukanen (Kyle) and great-grandsons Kilchis D. and Trask G. Sukanen, all of Chisinau, Moldova. Dorothy is preceded in death by her Parents, Edna in 2005 & Loren in 1985; husband, Bob Igo in 1979; and son, Greg Igo in 2009. A Celebration of Life will be held at Hillside Chapel, 1306 7th St. in Oregon City on Friday, October 14th at 1 p.m. with Rev. David Shankle officiating. Interment will be private at Wilhelm’s Portland Memorial. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, Portland Oregon branch: 3101 SW Sam Jackson Rd., Portland, OR 97239. Dorothy will be missed dearly and always remembered by those who knew and loved her.
