Frederick Joseph Brehony

August 26, 1943 - September 10, 2010

Frederick Brehony, or Fred Wrong Way (his nickname with the PGR)left this world on Friday, September 10, 2010 leaving behind his wife Pat of 45 years, daughters Pamela and Kathleen, son-in-laws Dwight (David) and Phil, and grandchildren Mychaela, Savannah, Becker, Sydney, Karl and Kylie. He was proceeded in death by his son, Freddy, in May. Dad was also a friend and brother to the men and women who serve with the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR). Dad will be remembered by many who know him as a man who dedicated his life standing in a flag line to honor our fallen soldiers who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Neither rain nor snow kept Dad from making sure that our military families and their soldiers knew how much he appreciated their service. Many times you would see dad go up to a soldier and proudly shake their hand and say "Thank you for your service". But to us, his daughter's, he was our Dad. Always loving, supportive, encouraging, funny and always kept our husbands in line. We were blessed to have our father walk us both down the aisle to begin our life as wives and to bless him with grandchildren that he loved with all of his heart. He was the centerpiece of family gatherings and camping trips. You could hear him cheering and scolding refs/umpires at sporting events. Dad would always, always make time for his family and we both know that he loved us, was proud of us, and he is here with us as we raise our families. To his wife, he was her rock. Mom and Dad rarely spent many nights apart. Dad always remembered anniversaries and birthdays and showered mom with flowers (he even knew which ones she could tolerate!!) They enjoyed dancing and taking classes so dad could learn new techiques to swing his wife around the dance floor. They spent a lot of time on the road touring the country and visiting family and friends. Mom and Dad had a true undying love for each other. For those of you who would like to pay your respects to Dad, you can do that on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 14th from 9AM - 5 and September 15th from 9AM - 8PM at Hillside Chapel in Oregon City. We will lay Dad to rest on Thursday. September 16th, at the Logan Pleasant View Cemetery on Springwater Rd at 2:00. We will then celebrate Dad's wonderful life at a memorial service on Sunday, September 19th, at Clackamas Bible Church at 4:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honor to the PGR in the care of Q Madp the photographer, PO Box 86888, Portland, Oregon 97286. For tax-deductible donations, donations can be made to the Oregon War Veterans Assoc. PO Box 8043 Salem, Oregon 97303. Please put Iraq War heros oraganizion on the memo line. PDF Printable Version
