Gil Millett III
October 14, 1953 - July 12, 2019
Gil Millett, age 65 of Oregon City, passed away July 12, 2019 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Gil was born October, 14, 1953 in Milwaukie, Oregon to Bev & Greg Millett. After high school, Gil began a career as a fire fighter/EMT for Gresham and Fire District 1. Preferring to avoid, 'sitting around the station in between calls,' he began a career in law enforcement with Clackamas County Sheriffs Office first as a deputy, next as a detective. Gil retired 3 years ago after 24 years, receiving numerous awards for his service. Gil met and married Denise Millett in 1986 and proudly raised his four children, Staci, Kelli, and twins Brian and Jason. Together they successfully started and ran a video store business, Mt. Tabor Video; while the kids played at the store and Gil joined the Clackamas County Reserve Program. He also coached many of his kids soccer and basketball teams throughout the years. Later Gil met and married Gail Pariseau and together spent the last eight years tending to their beautiful place out in the country. Gil enjoyed nothing better than a good meal and time spent with his family on his prized deck. His life was centered around duty and honor both at home and at work. He was selfless and never boasted about his accomplishments. He was just an all around good guy. Gil is survived by his children, Staci Millett of Portland. Kelli Naghdi of Vancouver. Brian and Jason Millett of Portland. His grandchildren Brycen and Liam. Parents Bev and Greg Millett of Milwaukie. Sister Carroll Hinds of Hines. Brother Gary Millett of Gresham. Wife Gail Pariseau Millett of Oregon City. Memorial service TBD.
