James "Jim" Raymond Nord
April 3, 1944 - August 8, 2021
James Raymond Nord, a structural engineer, amateur pilot, and self-proclaimed Euchre expert, passed away at home in Oregon City, August 8th, 2021. He vigilantly staved off the belligerent cancer that trespassed on his body for several years. He was born April 4th, 1944, in Benton Harbor, MI to Raymond Victor Nord and Mildred Louise Goodwin. James and his family journeyed to Ligonier, IN at a young age where he spent his formative years. James earned an engineering degree at the University of Kansas. He then traveled west, spending some time in Wichita, KA and Long Beach, CA, and finally settling in north-west Oregon, where he made his home for 48 years. James was a structural engineer for Clackamas County for many years. Mr. Nord is survived by his partner, Karen; his brother and wife, Dan and Trish McKibbin, of Indiana; his sister Connie Gunder, of Colorado; his three sons and their wives, Jeff and Nicole, Joel and Sierra, and Jon and Amy; and his four granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gerry. He will be Sorely missed.
