Matthew Torres was born on June 26, 1981 in San Antonio, TX. His parents were Richard and Mary Torres. Matthew passed away on May 27, 2021 one month before his 40th birthday in Beavercreek, OR. Matthew is survived by his: • Life partner and best friend – Meghan Gates of Beavercreek, OR • Parents - Richard and Mary Torres of Houston, TX • Sister, Erica Lundgren, niece and best buddy, Emily Lundgren, brother in law, Nathaniel Lundgren of Oregon City, OR. • Grandparents- Alejandro and Sulema Torres of San Antonio, TX • Aunts and Uncles: o Patricia and Paul Wilson of Rockwall, TX o John and Peggy Hasdorff of Wilmington, OH o Julie Hasdorff and John Convery of San Antonio, TX o Laurie and Charles Pursley of League City, TX o Jennifer Hasdorff of San Antonio, TX o Shelley Hasdorff of Flat Rock, MI o Raymond and Yvonne Torres of San Antonio, TX • Cousins – numerous cousins in Texas, Michigan, Washington DC, and Arizona Matthew was preceded in death by: • Grandparents – Rose and Lincoln Hasdorff of San Antonio, TX • Grandmother – Erika Torres of San Antonio, TX • Uncle – Joseph Hasdorff of San Antonio, TX • Uncle – Paul Hasdorff of Flat Rock, MI • Aunt and Uncle – Susan and Michael Williams of Rockwall, TX He attended Hallsville Elementary School in Hallsville, TX until the family moved to Oregon in 1992. He was a graduate of Oregon City High School in Oregon City, OR and worked as a finish carpenter for McFadden Finish and Trim in Oregon City. Matthew was an amazing wood worker. He created many beautiful finishing touches on the homes in and around Portland, OR as well as many hand-crafted items for his home and other family and friends. He was a master gardener, a talented artist, and an excellent cook. Matthew lived this life alongside his girlfriend, Meghan Gates. Matthew was a loving partner, he and Meghan supported each other and created memories together. Matthew had a huge heart and left this earth loving and being loved by his family. The family thanks you all for your outpouring of love and support. Thank you to those who have sent floral arrangements.
