Raleigh Courson
March 31, 1947 - February 28, 2018
RALEIGH "ROCKY" COURSON Rocky was born one beautiful day in Winter Haven, Florida, on March 31, 1947. He was a delightful child with a huge smile. When he was 4 years old, his parents, Carlton "Kit" and Violet Courson, migrated to Oregon and settled in the small town of Molalla. He attended school there, and upon graduation in 1965, joined the Army at the height of the Vietnam war. During his time in the military, he met his wife, Toni. They wed and moved back to Molalla upon his honorable discharge from military service. They divorced some years later. For years he worked at Dicken's Thriftway in Molalla and later worked for Tri Met until he retired. He moved to Oregon City in 1990. He loved his family and friends and was always there to help in any way he could. He had a very generous heart. He is survived by daughters Carla Thom and Charity "Anne" Johnson, sisters Byllie Epperson-Webster and Bobbi Courson, brothers Stephen Courson and Michael Courson, several grandchildren and one great granddaughter, numerous nieces and nephews and cousins who all loved and cherished him.
