Tamera V. Davis
December 27, 1958 - March 22, 2017
Tamera was born December 27, 1958 to Jerald and Janice Hooge in Klamath Falls, Oregon. She attended school in California and Washington before graduating from high school in California. She married Jeffery Davis in 1979, and they moved to the San Francisco bay area where they had two children, Brian and Jennifer. In 1995, they resettled in Oregon City. Tamera was involved in her local church and AWANA program, where she worked with teenagers in youth groups and summer camps. In 2001 she had a kidney transplant due to polycystic kidney disease. After her transplant, Tamera felt she had a new lease on life. She began studying horticulture at Clackamas Community College and graduated with an associate’s degree. Then she began working at Clackamas Community College in the computer science and enrollment services departments. She also served as president of the Classified Association for several years. After twelve years, Tamera retired from CCC in 2016. Tamera has three granddaughters and one grandson. Her love for people has also led her to “adopt” teenagers from church, students from CCC, and others who she felt that she could help. Everywhere she went, she made friends, whether it be her co-workers or the cashier at the grocery store. She was known for her easy laughter, her openness with others, and her love for God. She passed away on March 16, 2017 in Portland, Oregon and was surrounded by her immediate family. There will be a memorial celebration of her life at 3pm on Sunday, April 2nd at Oregon City Christian Church. (1179 South End Rd, Oregon City, OR 97045). Instead of flowers, donations in Tamera’s memory may be sent to House of Myrrh Ministries (http://heartchange.org/giving/) or World Concern (http://worldconcern.org/).
