Allan Lee Roy Baker
May 9, 1944 - March 17, 2025

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the unexpected passing of Allan Lee Roy Baker, who departed this life on March 17, 2025, at the age of 80.

Allan was born in McMinnville, Oregon, on May 9, 1944, to Lucille and Sylvester Baker. From an early age, Allan was known for his warmth, humor, and dedication to those he loved. He attended McMinnville High School, where he met the love of his life, Marsha Fowler. The two were married on September 23, 1966, beginning a lifelong journey of partnership, laughter, and unwavering support.

After graduating from Linfield College with a degree in Business, Allan and Marsha began their life together in McMinnville before moving to Portland, and later settling in West Linn, Oregon. There, they raised their three children and built a life filled with family, community, and meaningful work.

Allan served honorably in the Oregon National Guard, where he worked as an assistant to the General. His professional life was diverse and energetic-he worked in banking at the Oregon Bank, sold lumber, and owned a hot tub business before founding ABco Marketing, which he successfully operated for nearly 30 years.

Beyond his professional achievements, Allan found true joy in coaching. Beginning in 1980, he dedicated nearly two decades to coaching youth, college and women's softball and became a beloved figure in Oregon ASA circles. His mentorship left a lasting mark on the lives of countless young athletes, and he was respected not only for his knowledge of the game but for the generosity, humor, and heart he brought to the field.

Allan was always generous and thoughtful, consistently putting others before himself. He especially loved watching his children and grandchildren take part in their sports and activities. He was always the silent cheerleader. He was happiest watching those he loved doing what they loved.

Allan gave more than he ever asked for. He was deeply loved by all who knew him, and his one-of-a-kind sense of humor and boundless compassion will never be forgotten.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Marsha Fowler Baker; his children, Christine Baker Hill (Brad), Angie Baker McNett (Larry), and Jason Baker (Felipe); his cherished grandchildren, Spencer Hill (Cassie), Carter Hill, Brady McNett, and Delaney McNett; and his great-grandchildren, Oslo, Sella, and Esti Hill. He is also survived by his niece, Jamie Baker Franklin.

Allan's legacy of love, laughter, and service lives on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed.
