Obituary

Born on May 16th, 1961, Anne Chaklai was adopted into a loving family in Portland, Oregon. As a young adult her thirst for adventure led her to work as a flight attendant, which proved to be the perfect opportunity to satisfy her dreams of traveling the world. In pursuit of her intellectual interests in literature and languages, she completed a bachelor's degree in English literature, and later studied abroad in France, where she gained mastery of the French language. After completing her studies, she married and had two children. She spent the next two decades raising her children and living as a homemaker. As an avid basketball fan, she spent most of her free time either on the court playing basketball with her friends or watching the latest Blazers match. During the winter, she always made the most of Oregon's beautiful snowy mountains by going on frequent cross-country skiing trips with family and friends. After fighting a decade long battle with Alzheimer's disease, she passed away surrounded by family on July 13th, 2024. She is survived by her two daughters, her brother, her cousin, and countless friends and loved ones. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association.
