On August 28th, 2025, at the early age of 19, this Earth lost a precious soul to a fatal car accident. Austin James Smouse was born on July 12th, 2006, to parents Peter James Smouse and Deserae Renee Wendell. He was second oldest to his siblings Paige, Quentin and Dominic and had a loving girlfriend of 2 years, Megan. He was born in Portland, Oregon and raised in Gresham, Oregon- surrounded by many friends and family and loved by all. Austin would light up an entire room with his vibrant smile everywhere he went. Everyone clung to his high-spirited personality and his giving nature. Austin would've given the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His soul was kind, and his heart was always filled with love of those around him. He truly had a willingness and determination that made him strong in ways others are not. His positivity is what drove him to be the person he was, many would say he was the most positive person they knew.
He would always find joy in spending his free time somewhere outdoors. Being a nature loving person, he filled his time camping and going into the woods. River days with his friends and family, or off-roading in his jeep. Taking a drive to chase sunsets and trying new recipes in the kitchen.
Austin always wanted to be a father and adored his family more than anything. He looked up to his devoted father and did everything he could to help with his younger brothers. He was always the type of person to go long lengths for anyone he loved.
No words could describe how much Austin will be missed. His smile, his infectious laugh, his positive attitude, his jokes. The sheer absence of his presence can never be filled. Austin's memory will forever be cherished and remembered through his family, friends, and loved ones. God takes the good ones too early.
