Obituary

Baylis O. Youngblood, age 85,
died peacefully on May 6 at his
home in Oregon City, Oregon.
Born December 9, 1932 in
Portland, Oregon to Harley O.
Youngblood and Beaulah P.
Fanning Youngblood. He lived
in Southwest Portland until
moving with his family to a
farm on the Clackamas River in
Oregon City.
In 1951, he joined the US
Marine Corps and served in the Korean War until
its armistice and was honorably discharged in 1954.
Stationed at Camp Pendleton in southern California,
Baylis lived in California for several years following his
discharge.
Baylis met and married Marjorie L. Connor in 1958
in Garden Grove, California. In 1962, Mr. & Mrs.
Youngblood moved to Oregon City, where they raised
five children: Lowell, Gregory, Troy, William (Bill) and
Scott. All five still reside nearby in Clackamas County.
Baylis and Marjorie also have 14 grandchildren and 14
great grandchildren.
Baylis was preceded in death by Marjorie after 47
years of marriage in 2005. His eldest brother, Harley O.
Youngblood died in 2017. Baylis is survived by his elder
brother, Donzel Youngblood of American Fork, Utah.
