Robert "Bob" Bartley, age 85, passed away on November 20, 2023 at his home in West Linn, Oregon.
Bob was born in Stanfield, Oregon and moved to Oregon City as a young child. He graduated from Oregon City High School in 1957 and enlisted in the army shortly after, where he was stationed in Germany. A memorable event from his time in Germany was winning a sharp shooting contest and being congratulated by many different colonels from all over Europe. On his return, he was in the army reserves. He began his career as a firefighter at the Milwaukie Fire Department while simultaneously working at Oregon City Plumbing.
Bob passed on to his children his values of work ethic, perseverance, kindness and being a straight shooter. He was an avid fisherman and hunter his whole life. In the spring he loved to fish for Chinook and hunt turkey. When fall rolled around he was planning trips to go pheasant, elk or deer hunting. He shared his love of fishing and hunting with his son, Blake, and eventually to his grandsons.
Bob is survived by his wife, Pat, (married 62 years) his daughter, Paige Bartley, (Jay Sparkman), his daughter, Stacy Bartley and his four grandsons: Trever Gelling, Brendan Gelling, Chase Bartley, and Carter Bartley as well as many family and friends. He was preceded in death by Claude Bartley (father), Bess Reynolds (mother) Ray Bartley, (brother) and his son, Blake Bartley.
