Bobby Clifton Dalton was born in Kingsville, Texas on January 3rd, 1943. His Mother and Father were Alva and Billie Jo Dalton, was one of five siblings, and grew up in and around Chandler and Corpus Christi, Texas. Bobby joined the United States Navy in 1962. He served from 1962 to 1968 on the USS Benewah and spent three tours culminating to 39 months in Vietnam. He was a brown water combat veteran who was exposed to Agent Orange while deployed in the conflict. Bobby met the love of his life, Betty Jean, as pen pals while serving before his exit from the military. At the end of his service, they met and were married in Amity, Oregon on May 6th, 1969. In 1970 they welcomed their first of four children. Bobby worked as a big machine mechanic at various places throughout his life whether in the forest or aerospace industry. Bobby loved to fish, hunt, read, and spend time with his family. He retired from Precision Cast Parts in 2006 and he and his wife moved to Terrebonne, Oregon. In 2011 his dear wife of 42 years died of Cancer. Bobby remained in Central Oregon until he relocated to Oregon City in 2018. He received a diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma as a result of Agent Orange and moved to receive treatment at the VA and be closer to family. He fought chronic illness after chronic illness and beat each one with his trademark grit and tenacity, even going into remission from Multiple Myeloma during COVID. Unfortunately, Lung Cancer snuck in, fought dirty, and was too quick. Before he even had the chance to strategize an attack Bobby had to throw in the towel on October 23rd, 2021. He was the strongest man any of us have ever known. He was our Superman. Be good, Pops. He is preceded by his mother, father, sister Betty, brother Billy, his loving wife Betty Jean, and his daughter, Donna Linn. He is survived by his 3 children (Phil, Mindy, and Deanna), 6 grandchildren, one great grandchild, 2 siblings, and 2 great Aunts.
