Brian Jon Santos passed away March 19, 2026, from a recently diagnosed inoperable brain tumor. He was under the care of his mother, Eden Hospice, and Home Instead caregivers at the time of his death. Brian was the son of Frank P. Santos., Sr. who preceded him in death in 1994 and Donalee Santos Gettel who, along with his brother, Frank P. Santos, Jr., survive him.
Brian was well known in Northwest and Central Oregon not only as a master craftsman in the construction industry but also as a premier guitarist and musician. It is hard to determine which he loved more – construction tools or his guitars and musical equipment. As a result of his passion for both, he acquired numerous friends who loved him deeply. It has been comforting to his mother and brother to know that he had such good friends over his lifetime. Thank you all for caring so much.
During Brian's career in the construction industry he survived many on-the-job injuries, the last of which (a broken foot) ended his career. His most notable injury (which he miraculously survived) resulted from a nail accidentally being released from a nail gun from the floor above where he was working in 1994 into the center of his skull. There but for the Grace of God . . . . .
Special thanks to Brian's longtime friends Ed Mateer and Brent Hoppe for their help and kindnesses to not only Brian but to his mother and brother as well.
Rest in peace, dear Brian, you continue to be loved.
Entombment at Mountain View Cemetery; arrangements by Hillside Chapel, both in Oregon City, Oregon.
