Five years after this move, he married Josephine Donovan, the school secretary! Together they built a new home in Oregon City where they enjoyed gardening and entertaining friends and family.
After retirement, Cal worked for AARP setting up programs and doing training in various states. He volunteered at the OC Senior Center and Library. He was a member of St. John the Apostle Church. His last interest was beginning oil painting. We shall miss him!
