Carol Cone, 75 of West Linn Oregon, passed away after a brief illness on February 21, 2023.

Born on November 14, 1947, in Jacksonville Florida and raised in Fulton New York, she spent most of her adult life living in San Francisco California. She later retired and moved to the Portland Oregon area where she has lived for the last 20 years.

Carol was passionate about animal welfare all her life. She volunteered for many years at the zoo during which she acquired an impressive collection of exotic animals in need of a loving home. She eventually sat for an exam and got her dream job as an animal keeper with the San Francisco Zoo where she worked for 14 years until she retired. Carol continued to foster and take in unadoptable pets.

She had a very creative side that she expressed through her bead collections and masterful jewelry making. She made exquisite jewelry for many special people including her daughters for each of their weddings. She was very talented, and it gave her great joy to teach others her craft.

Carol was also passionate about politics and enjoyed engaging in intelligent conversations about important topics. She was always an advocate for the marginalized and very outspoken with her views, reflecting her spirit of always caring for those who are vulnerable.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years William Scott of Pacifica, California, her 2 daughters Jacqueline (Jamie) Flint of Hannibal New York and Jennifer (Lorne) Cross of West Linn Oregon, her 5 grandchildren Luke Siver, Vanessa Siver, Megan Flint, Hunter Gibbs, Henderson Hunter and her great granddaughter Aurora Siver. Her Step Mother Claudean Cone of Ft. Pierce Florida and 4 sisters April (Steven) Knapp of Ft. Pierce Florida, Joanie (Paul) Neu of Cincinnati Ohio, Erin Grady of Fulton New York, and Bobette (Michael) Gentile of Okemos Michigan. Many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father Francis Murray Cone, her mother Juanita Grady, her 3 brothers Francis Cone, Nathan James Jay Cone, and Craig Cone.

Funeral services will be held at Hillside Chapel in Oregon City, Oregon on Saturday March 4, 2023, from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. A reception will immediately follow at the home of Jennifer and Lorne Cross. All are welcome, and all are encouraged to come celebrate our precious mama's life.
