We lost Christopher Kirk Howcroft in July to complications with diabetes (the betus). Chris was 39 years old and had already been planning his ultimate karaoke 40th birthday next July.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Jo of Oregon City, his sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Matt Rosenberger of Battle Ground, Washington, and his three cats. He also surrounded himself with his large family of aunts, cousins and 39 years worth of friends. He was a 1999 graduate of Oregon City High School.

From music to movies, to crafting, Chris was always finding a way to let his creative juices flow. Homemade thoughtful gifts were a regular occurrence for "burfdays" and Christmas. But Chris' favorite holiday was always Halloween. He would start planning his costume November 1 for the next year. In fact, his last Instagram post was about his 2019 Halloween costume.

His memorial will be August 4 from 1 - 4 p.m. at the Museum of the Oregon Territory in Oregon City. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cat Adoption Team of Sherwood.
