Dr. Curtis Smith Hansford, also known as Curt, passed away on December 16, 20023 at the age of 86 in Tualatin, Oregon. Born on August 9, 1937, in Billings Montana, Curt lived a remarkable life filled with accomplishments and cherished relationships.

Curt was a loving husband, devoted father, and a wonderful friend to many. His kind and gentle nature endeared him to everyone he met. He was admired for his zest for life and his unwavering kindness. One of Curt's greatest achievements was becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Odontology on February 19, 1997, a testament to his dedication and expertise in the field.

In his educational pursuits, Curt obtained a Dental Degree from the University of Oregon Dental School in Portland, Oregon. He went on to serve in the US Navy from 1961-1963, where he honed his skills and contributed to the military community.

Throughout his career as a dentist, Curt made significantnt impact on the communities he served. From 1961-2013, he had dental practices in Bozeman and Plentywood, Montana, as well as John Day, Oregon. He also worked for the Tillamook County Health Department in Tillamook, Oregon and the Coffee Creek Correctional Institution in Wilsonville, Oregon.

Curt found joy and fulfillment in various hobbies. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and his craftmanship extended to jewelry making, woodworking and woodturning.

Curt will be deeply missed by his surviving family members, including his beloved wife, Jenny Hansford of Wilsonville, Oregon, his son Gerald Hansford of Monmouth, Oregon Alan Hansford of Corvallis, Oregon, Pamela Collier of Newburg, Oregon, Rob Hansford of Tualan, Oregon, Kimberley Burgess of Tacoma, Washington and Rory Toney of Portland, Oregon. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His sister Karen Hansford King (Broth-In-Law Charles King) of Galveston, Texas, three Nieces, and Four Nephews. Curt was preceded in death by his Father Joe Fowler Hansford, his Mother Ora Smith Hansford, and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.

In his religious life, Curt was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Laer-Day Saints from 1982, finding solace and community within his faith.

A memorial service to honor Curt's Life will be held on January 20, 2024, at 1:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Laer-Day Saints Ward located at 1285 South Elm Street, Canby, Oregon.
