Obituary

After a long illness Daniel has gone home to be with his Lord.
Dan was born the fourth child of Alvah and Elizabeth Cottrell in Portland, OR.
He attended Laurelhurst Grade School and Benson H.S., Graduating in 1958.
He served his country in the U.S. Army stationed in Okinawa.
He attended Multnomah School of the Bible and graduated from Warner Pacific College.
After working for several years at the Veterans Hospital, he became an ordained minister with the Evangelical Methodist Church and served faithfully as pastor of Jennings Lodge Community Church for many years.
Dan loved his old Studebaker cars but more than that he loved God and people, especially people in need. He served with the Union Gospel Mission of Portland as a minister and friend to the homeless and addicted.
He is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, parents Alvah and Betty and nephew Dale Clemmens.
He will be greatly missed by his sisters; Ruth Clemmens of Portland, OR; Martha McMillan of Castle Rock, WA; Mirabel Weidman of Seaside, OR; Lois Crombie of Salem, OR; Phyllis Haas of Clatskanie, OR, as well as 36 nieces and nephews, a large extended family and many friends.
