David Paul Akers-known affectionately over the years as Dave, Davie Paul Daddy, DPA, Poppa Akers, and "Spud"-passed away on July 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on February 19, 1944, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Paul and Mina Akers, David was part of a vibrant, full house of seven children; Gayle, Barbara, Jeanne, Patty, Davie, Steve, and Mike. Raised with strong values and a resilient spirit, David was a true cowboy at heart and lived his life as one of the genuine "good old boys"-dependable, warm, and steadfast.


A proud Vietnam veteran, David answered the call of duty and served In United States Navy during the war. His military service was a source of great personal pride and reflected his lifelong dedication, discipline, and devotion to his country.


Following his Military Service, David worked over two decades as a skilled welder with Precision Castparts Corp., where his hard work and dedication were clear in everything he did.

Following his time there, he brought his friendly presence to the Oregon City School District, driving a school bus and safely guiding local children to and from school until his retirement.


David made his life in Beavercreek, Oregon in 1983 where he bought a home and 10 acres of land and started a family, with his then wife Kay Akers and their two children Brandon and Dusti. They raised their children with a deep commitment to the country way of life -teaching them the values of hard work, respect for the land, and what it truly meant to grow up as farm kids.


David was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mina, and his siblings Gayle, Barbara, and Patty. He is survived and deeply missed by his loving children, Dusti Akers and Brandon Akers; his cherished grandchildren, Braedon and Samantha Akers; and his siblings Mike Akers, Steve Akers, and Jeanne Jensen, along with a wide circle of extended family and friends.


A memorial service to celebrate David's life will be held in the coming month. Further details about the date, time, and location will be shared once completed.


He will be forever missed, always remembered, and forever held in the hearts of those who loved him.
