Obituary

Don was born and raised in Oregon City where he enjoyed playing basketball in his youth. He would remain an ardent fan of the sport throughout his life. He was a successful entrepreneur, starting several businesses ranging from clothing to specialty meats. The most notable of these enterprises are The Sausage Kitchen, which has been owned and operated by the Alliks of Oregon City for many years; and Grandpa Don's. Grandpa Don's specialized in sausage and pepperoni products which, at one time, enjoyed international distribution.

Don loved the outdoors and was activity oriented. In his early years he enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, fishing, tennis and ping pong. Later in life Don devoted much of his time fishing the high desert lakes of Central Oregon spending his summers in La Pine with his wife, Susan.

Don was a congenial, courteous man with a sharp mind for numbers and a quick wit. He was a loyal friend and family member, and there for many in their time of need. His faith in God deeply guided his life.

Don is survived by his wife Susan; daughters Debra and Janet; grandchildren Adam, Ryan, and David Kraxberger, Colin and Katie Patterson; great grandchildren Colby, Kaden and Kohr Kraxberger, and step-son and daughter-in-law Todd and Debi Hopp. He is preceded in death by his mother, Genevive; father, Albert; and sister Harriet Kitzmiller. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
