Donna Patricia Shilling (Patty) passed away peacefully on October 6th, 2026. She was born on September 13th, 1930 in Spokane to Charles and Averil Goff. She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing. In 1952 She met her husband Donald Shilling. In 1964 they moved to Milwaukie Oregon. They were married 64 years until his death in 2016. They had five children. Patty is survived by 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Patty loved nursing! Especially mothers and newborn children. She retired from Willamette Falls Community Hospital Birthplace in 2004 after 39 years. After retirement she was the parish nurse at Milwaukie Lutheran Church which she enjoyed. She loved spending time with her family and friends, playing cards, traveling, working in her yard and helping others. Patty was loved by everyone. Thousands of children were welcomed into the world by her. She treated each child with the same compassion and love as if they were her own child. Patty was the just the sweetest person ever. Contributions in her memory may be made to Milwaukie Lutheran Church’s Backpack Buddies. Her memorial service will be at Milwaukie Lutheran Church on Friday October 23rd at 11:00am.
