Elmer Lewis, 92, passed away on August 22, 2016, at his home in West Linn, Oregon with his family by his side.
Elmer was born on June 21, 1924 to George and Alice (Mah) Lewis in Fresno, California and was the fourth of six children: Leonard, Eugene, Lanora, Elmer, Evelyn and Camilla.
Elmer was a World War II veteran having served in the US Army from January 1943 through December 1945. On his return to California from the war, Elmer worked for a short time in a grocery store and then started a long career with the Postal Service.
Elmer married Mary and they had three children: Michael (married to Debbie), Linda , and Terry (married to Rebeca). Grandchildren include: Sarah & Mat (Liz), Brian (Kate), Patrick & Stephen and Great-Grandson Declan.
Elmer moved to Oregon in 2006 and resided with Terry and his family and their dog Cassidy. Elmer is remembered for his kindness, generosity and love for family.
In accordance with his wishes, there will not be any services.
