Evelyn M. Petersen, of Oregon City, Oregon, died peacefully at home on Friday, February 9, 2024 at the age of 92. She was predeceased by her husband Walter A. Petersen, her son Anthony, her parents Emile and Albina Vautour, her sister Laura Donovan and her brother Wallace Vautour. Evelyn was born August 27, 1931 in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. She met Walt when she was working at the American Air Force base in Stephenville, Newfoundland, Canada. They moved to Walter's hometown of Portland, Oregon. Evelyn is survived by her daughters Anne Petersen of Portland, OR, Barbara Lynch (Timothy) of Rochester, NY, Carol Romano of Oregon City, OR and Diana Rosvall of Clallam Bay, WA. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren who gave her so much joy, Bridget Fischer (Scott), Kathleen Lynch, James Lynch, Noah Rosvall, and Daryn Rosvall. She was thrilled to know she would soon be a great-grandmother. Mom will be remembered and missed by family and friends, not only in Portland, OR (extended Petersen family) but also in Saint John, NB (The Vautour and Gaudet families), and Rochester, NY (The Lynch family). Mom was a friend to all who met her. Her smile and generosity will be missed. In her memory, scratch a lottery ticket and share your winnings with others. As she would say "I had a good life." A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 11:30am (Rosary at 11:00am) at St. John the Apostle Church, 410 Center Street, Oregon City, OR. There will be a private family interment.
