Gilbert Louis Crowell, 65, of Oregon City, Oregon, passed away peacefully at home on October 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Laredo, Texas, and raised in Redwood City, California, Gilbert liveda life rooted in faith, love, and hard work. He began his journey as a Pastor with the Salvation Army, sharing compassion and hope through ministry. He went on to spend 27 years building a successful career as an award-winning truck driver and delivery associate with Sysco Food Services, admired for his dedication and integrity, and earning deep respect for his commitment and leadership. He strived for excellence to leave a legacy of
love that impacted each person he crossed paths with.
Gilbert loved playing guitar, leading worship, fishing with his kids, and cheering for his favorite team, the San Francisco 49ers. He also loved designing and building projects and had a true fixer's spirit—always eager to help others, take on new challenges, and learn how to do anything he set his mind to. He was known for his humor, faith, and devotion to family —truly "the best Dad and Papa ever."
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Crowell; his children Joshua, Jeremiah,
Jessica, and Jennifer Crowell; his beloved grandchildren Ellie, Guenevere,
Jeremiah Jr, Blake, Augustus, and Ezra; his mother, Olga Crowell; and
his brothers Gary, Hilton, and Richard Crowell.
