James F. Cornoyer died Jan. 21, 2018 in Medford after a long illness.
Jim was raised in Portland, Ore. He married Barbara Sauer in 1962. They had two children and later divorced. He married Dianne Sossaman in 1982. Jim spent 15 years in the Army Reserves. He graduated from Cleveland High School in 1957 and earned a Masters in Education from Portland State University in 1974. Jim retired in 1995 as principal of Neah-Kah-Nie High School in Rockaway Beach, Ore. He was a member of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. His hobbies included downhill skiing, rodeo, jet skiing and travel, particularly Kihea, Maui, Hawaii.
Jim is survived bu his wife, Dianne; children, Doug of Milwaukie, Garen Weitman of West Linn, James Jr. of Medford; brother, Ron of Crooked River Ranch; and many friends. A service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday April 7 at Hillside Chapel in Oregon City with Father Maxy D'Costa officiating. A memorial reception will immediately follow at the Verdict in downtown Oregon City. Donations may be made to any Catholic charity.
