John G. Groner (Jack) passed away October 28th, 2017 surrounded by loving family.
Born to Alvin Theodore Groner Sr. and Etta K. Groner (Autenrieth) in Oregon City April 6th, 1939. Jack was a life long Oregon City resident. He Attended Eastham Grade School, Gardiner Jr. High, Oregon City High School, and Portland Electronics College. He worked at Publishers Paper Mill in Oregon City, then started a career as an electronics technician with RCA and General Electric where he retired with 25 years of service. Jack was involved in the IBEW Union Local 49 and served as Union President for several years. After he retired at age 54 Jack worked for RAZ Transportation for several years.
In 1958 he married Donna (Wince), and had three sons. Jack and Donna were married for 59 years. Upon Retirement he enjoyed fishing, traveling, working on his property with his tractor, and spending time with his son's and grand children.
Jack is survived by his wife Donna; son's Craig (Holly), Jay (Julie), David (Rebecca), and grandchildren Sam, Stacey, Austin, Jared, Anna, Avery.
Service will be held Thursday, November 2 @ 11:00AM at Hillside Chapel 1306 Seventh Street, Oregon City 503-656-4285.
Private internment at Mountain View Cemetery.
