Larry George Tellinghusen was born July 11, 1944 in Bismarck North Dakota to George and Elsie Tellinghusen who preceded him in death. Larry is survived by his wife Kara Tellinghusen, daughter Cam Vanover, daughter Chris Kemp, sister Georgia Moore and brother Melvin Tellinghusen. Larry lived in North Dakota until the age of six when his parents moved to Portland Oregon. Larry returned to North Dakota every summer to work on his Uncle and Aunt's farm. Larry enlisted in the Army when he was 17. While in the Army he was sent overseas to Vietnam where he served two tours of duty. When he came home from the war he worked and went to college where he received his bachelor's degree in computer science. He worked in that field for several months. He became a reserve deputy and went on to have a career in law enforcement for eighteen years. A few years after leaving law enforcement he married Kara Tellinghusen in June of 1989 and started an excavation business; Larry ran Tracks Excavation until he had a stroke in November 1997. He mostly recovered from that and started another business restoring and painting hot rods, he did that for many years until finally retiring. He kept busy working in his shop and talking with friends. Larry had his first heart attack on October 1, 2020 he was in and out of the hospital until January 2021 when they put four stints in his heart. He never really got better. On May 30, 2021 he passed away in his sleep. He should be remembered as an exceptionally good and loyal friend. He was always available to give advice.
