Linda Rose DePasquale Serres, loving and beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away March 26, 2024, in Oregon City, Ore. She was 79 years old. Linda was born on October 6, 1944, in Rochester, New York, the second of three daughters of the late Anthony and Agnes DePasquale. Linda is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Dr. Edward Joseph Serres. She is survived by her sisters, Dianne Kosboth and Deborah (James) Koch.

Linda lived and attended elementary and middle school in Rochester, Tonawanda, and White Plains, New York: as a young girl, she loved playing "cowgirl" and, as she got older, enjoyed excursions into New York City. After her family moved to Minnesota in her teenage years, she attended–and excelled at–Edina High School, before attending Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1966.

During her years at Creighton, Linda met and married Edward Serres, a joyful union that brought them eight children. Edward's career and U.S. Army service took them to Los Angeles, California; Frankfurt, Germany; and Fort Huachuca, Arizona before they resettled back in Ed's hometown of Oregon City, where they raised their children and spent their remaining years. With Linda's aesthetics, high expectations, and warm spirit, she crafted and stewarded each of their homes, as she and Ed formed their family's values, relationships, spirit, and character in environments of loving comfort and security.

In addition to steadfastly fulfilling her calling as mother and wife, Linda took on leadership roles in charity and fundraising, particularly as a champion of her children's Catholic schools, directing numerous auctions. Her selflessness continued well into her later years when, even while devoting herself to her grandchildren and parents, she was a loyal friend and worked in child advocacy with Angels in the Outfield and CASA of Clackamas County, and ministry to prisoners.

For all of the love Linda gave to her community as a woman for others, her first and most enduring priority was her children and grandchildren, whose visits were her and Ed's delight and with whom she generously shared her time, love, sharp wit, resources, and wisdom. Linda is survived by her eight children, including Anthony Serres, Sarah (Rick) Serres, Christopher (Karolina) Serres, Joseph (Amy) Serres, Nicholas (Michelina) Serres, Daniel (Laura) Serres, Anne-Marie (Austin) Serres, and Matthew (Daniel) Serres, and thirteen grandchildren, including Makenzie Smith, Uma Serres, Bela Serres, Dominic Serres, Emmanuelle Serres, Wyatt Gove, Salvador Wienecke, Liam Gove, Benjamin Wienecke, Cecilia Wienecke, Edward Serres, Vivienne Serres, and Evangeline Serres.

Linda's life will be celebrated at a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 19, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 417 Washington Street, in Oregon City, which will be preceded by a Rosary at 10:30 a.m. A private interment for immediate family will take place at 12:00 p.m. A reception will follow the Mass at 1:00 p.m. at Ainsworth House and Gardens, 19130 Lot Whitcomb Drive, in Oregon City.
