Lizzy McKenzie, age 78, of Oregon City, Oregon, passed away peacefully to go be with the Lord and her son Allen on January 19th, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of tireless dedication, love, and strength. Born on January 28th, 1947, in Hytop, Alabama to Ruth & Norman, she was known from a young age for her unwavering work ethic and devotion to those she loved.
In the late 80s, she began working for Clackamas County Road Department, fueling trucks in the evening. In 1990 she continued her career working as a flagger and running the mower. In June of 1992, she was hired on full-time at Clackamas County Road Department. She retired in August of 2019. Lizzy built a distinguished career as a Transportation Maintenance Specialist 3 where she was revered as a mentor, a tireless worker, and a pioneer in her field. Colleagues knew her as a woman who never backed down from a challenge, balancing her professional achievements with a generous heart.
However, her most cherished work was as a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was the rock of her family, known for working on her property, working on her tractor, gardening, and baking. She often worked behind the scenes to ensure her family had everything they needed, showing love through her actions and dedication.
Lizzy is survived by her children, daughter Heidi & son Billy, her granddaughter, Sabrina and great grandchildren Kaicen, Kevin & Bristol.


A celebration of her life will be held at Mt. View Cemetery in their mausoleum on February 6th, 2026 at 1:00 pm.
