Obituary

Lorraine Faye Taylor Hair ---- (approximately 4'11 and average build) – Born on October 2, 1930 to Fred and Doris Taylor, in Bottineau, North Dakota and lived in Rolla, North Dakota (a very small town – all 12 grades in 1 schoolhouse building) until October 1942 – moved to Los Angeles, California and entered a junior high school with approximately 600 students (BIG MOVE). Moved to Oregon City, Oregon in July 1947 – finished senior year of high school in Oregon City. Met Samuel R. Hair in 1947 in Oregon City and was married November 27, 1948. Lived in Prospect, Oregon after marriage for a few months – then in Oregon City for approximately the next 5 years – then 1 year in Ophir, Oregon and from them on in Oregon City. When in high school and living in Los Angeles, she worked at S.H. Kress & Co. (A dime store) as a clerk. Worked in Oregon City while a senior in high school as a secretary in a real estate office; worked for the State of Oregon Fish Commission as a secretary to their biologists for a couple years; worked for Central Billing Bureau for approximately 6 months to a year as a secretary and then worked for 30 years in the title insurance business (all except for a few months) as an escrow officer for Pacific Title, Transamerica title, Safeco Title and Chicago Title. Volunteered as a den mother for Cub Scouts and had a group of Blue Birds and was active in PTA when children were in grade school. As for sports activities, she learned to water ski, but did not swim, drove the ski boat; liked to golf, snowmobile and ride ATV's (had a problem with 2-wheel vehicles – didn't have much success). Raced Go-Kart's for approximately 14 years – mainly in Oregon and Washington and loved to be first whether against women only – OR MEN. Member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority (didn't join until after retirement). During working years, she was a member of the Metropolitan Escrow Council and a ham radio operator. Lorraine is survived by her brother Malcolm Taylor and sister Julie Ellingboe, Son Wayne Hair and wife Susan Hair, daughter Toni Warren and husband Larry Warren, grandsons Sean Hair, Chris Olson, Aaron Olson and great grandchildren Samuel and Lillian Hair. She is predeceased by husband Samuel Hair and grandson Ryan Hair.
