Mary Elizabeth Moore
May 22, 1921 - Feb. 26, 2021
Mary E. Moore died peacefully Friday, Feb. 26, 2021, just shy of her 100th birthday.
Mary was the youngest of 12 children, born to Thomas and Jemima Moore. She lived in Oregon City her whole life and was a longtime member of Christ Church Apostolic, where she played the piano. During her years of employment, she worked in administration for Pendleton Woolen Mills, the Oregon City Laundry and Clackamas Community College, from which she retired in 1983. She never married but was extremely close to her only sister, Jemima, and her family. One of the many highlights of her life were her trips to Ireland to visit family. She loved animals and always had a cat by her side. She walked or took the bus everywhere she went, having never felt the need to learn to drive. She was kind, witty and fun!
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and all of her siblings; in addition to nephews, Terry and Robin Tomlin. She is survived by niece, Pat Tomlin; great-nieces, Julie Nielsen and Jen Ludwig and their families; and great-nephews, Trent and Robin Tomlin and their families.
A service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Hillside Chapel in Oregon City. A viewing will be held immediately prior from 10-10:45 a.m. A private family burial will be held immediately after. There is no reception to follow due to COVID. A special thank you to the staff at Meadows Courtyard Retirement home for the loving care they provided.
