Mike passed away at his home in Beavercreek and joined his Heavenly Father the same day he was born on Earth. This was after a 16 month battle with cancer. He had lived in the same Beavercreek residence since 1984. Mike was born and raised in in Portland and graduated from Marshall High School in 1974. He was employed by Stagecraft Industries for 30 years prior to his retirement in 2012.

Mike enjoyed outdoor activities, working on his farm and spending time with family and friends. One of his greatest joys was being involved in his church and singing in the choir. Mike was loved for his positive attitude, sense of humor and warm smile. He had a way of lighting up a room with his presence and will be missed by many.

Mike is survived by his wife, Brenda; mother, Maria Simpson; sisters, Pam Oswalt and Susan Simpson; brother-in-law, Bill Oswalt, and three nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Grand View Baptist Church in Beavercreek, OR. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Grand View Baptist Church.
