Obituary

Nancy Ann White was born on November 6th, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Gilbert Manning and Katherine Ross.

Nancy earned her associate degree in Mental Health from Mt. Hood Community College in 1977, graduating Phi Theta Cappa. She then became an Alcohol and Drug counselor at Multnomah County Corrections, and a Paramedic/EMT. Throughout Nancy's life she was an artist, making traditional Lakota-Sioux jewelry, beading, and leather craftsmanship. Nancy enjoyed oil painting, jewelry making, and attending powwows. Nancy was a published author and poet*. She was also an avid sky gazer and storyteller.

Nancy married George William White; they shared 43 years together. Nancy and George were snowbirds that traveled to Arizona during the winter. They traveled throughout the country for many years together.
Nancy loved her family and had many friends. Her fulfillment came from helping people. She also had a special place in her heart for dogs and cats, especially feeding and rescuing strays, and feral cats.
Nancy died at age the age of 85 on August 15th, 2023. She was preceded in death by: Gilbert Manning and Katherine Ross; Father and Mother, George White; Husband, Vicki McDonald; stepdaughter, John Manning; brother, James Manning; Brother, James Jones; son, Michael Manning; son, Joy Prosise; daughter.

Survivors include Dana Harding; daughter, Christy Prosise-Hager; daughter, Daniel Prosise; son, Terrilynn Wershey, Rick White, Kari Huddleston; stepchildren. Joe Manning; brother, Elena McLean; sister, as well as brothers' and sisters in law', and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Our family would like to express special appreciation to Uncle Joe Manning, Melissa Harding, Nancy's Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren and all her nieces and nephews including Clarissa Tracy-Manning and Meranda-Tracy Manning. Also, for her friend of many years Jim Wages.

A Potluck Celebration for Nancy's life will be held at Clackamette Park, Oregon City, September 30th, 2023, 11:00-3:00, Memorial Service at 12. Picnic tables are available, feel free to bring a chair if preferred.
