In Loving Memory of Nelta Joyce Campbell

Nelta Joyce Campbell, age 78, of Newberg, Oregon, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026.

Nelta was born on November 24, 1947, in Lebanon, Oregon, to Mattison B. Smith and Betty Anne Sylvester.

Nelta devoted her life to her family and her faith, always putting others before herself. Nelta was known for her kindness, generosity, and compassionate spirit. Her warmth and unwavering love touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Nelta is lovingly remembered by her children, Harold Mattison Campbell, Debbie Staley, and Danial Campbell; her grandchildren, Steven Gorman, Alicia Hendrix, Steven Staley, and Chelsea Pierce; her great-grandchildren, Landon Hendrix, Addison Hendrix, Patrick Pierce, Wesley Gorman, and Emma Gorman; her sister, Peggy Flores; and many other cherished family members and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Campbell; her parents, Mattison B. Smith and Betty Anne Force; and her stepfather, Harold Force.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at Willamette National Cemetery.

Nelta will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love, laughter, kindness, and compassion she shared with the world. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of faith, love, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
