Oscar was born in Ashley North Dakota to Philip Fredrick Andrew Zachaharias Geiszler and Lydia lszler Geiszler Bader. He married Lorraine Janke on March 8th, 1950. He farmed for many years with his family in North Dakota prior to moving to Oregon in 1963. He worked for 9 years at allied plating in Portland, and then for the public works department in Oregon City, from which he retired in the 1990's. He remained active in church activities at the Oregon City Evangelical Church up until his death. He was a strong follower of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and never missed an opportunity to share his faith, as well as welcome many people into the Lord's family. He was active with the cemetery association in caring for cemeteries in Oregon City, and also was a gatekeeper for the Absolom Hedges Pioneer cemetery in Canemah. Having been the longest permanent resident in Canemah, he had many stories to share with new neighbors, and he always welcomed them into the neighborhood. Many referred to him as the Mayor of Canemah. He will be missed in body, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of all the lives he has touched throughout his 85+ years. He is survived by his daughters, Mercedes Comstock, Gloria Guffey, Lila Hampton, Lorinda Geiszler, Sandra Bell and Brenda Wilson; 23 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, Ervin Geiszler; sister, Esther Scheuffle, and 5 step sisters. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine (2008); his son, Ivan (1984), and his brothers, Fred, Reuben and Lee.
