Obituary

Paul was born in Rolette, ND, to Wallace and Lutherine Strand. Paul passed away at home after years of suffering from heart disease. Paul is survived by his wife of 28 yrs. Lynn Strand. Paul was preceded in death by his father Wallace and his beloved dog, Buddy. Paul's mother Lutherine Strand lives in Woodburn, OR. Paul leaves behind three daughters, Sheryl Mitchell (Dave) of Sherwood, OR. Julie Goodell (Josh) and Tracie Strand of Carrollton TX. His stepson, Eric Miller (Kerri) of Medford, OR, and stepdaughter Andrea Grand of Oregon City. He was the 2nd of 4 brothers. David Strand (Chris) of Manzanita, OR, Gaylord (Sarah) Strand of Lacey, WA, and Karl Strand (Linda) of Portland, OR. Paul adored his grandchildren, Tanner, Oscar, Oliver, Brandon, Jacob, Justin, and Caleb, as well as his only granddaughter, Megan.

Paul grew up in Woodburn, Or where attended grade school, and graduated from Woodburn High School in 1968. It was great fun and a joy to attend his 50th class reunion recently. Paul and his family attended Immanuel Lutheran Church in Woodburn while growing up in which his Mother still attends. Paul and Lynn attend New Life four square church in Canby, OR.

Paul worked at Bingham Willamette Co. in Portland for many years. Paul was very proud of his work in the nuclear department at Los Alamos Lab in N.M. Paul also worked for Lockheed Martin in Los Angeles. Paul continued to work as an estimator and project manager in Portland, Oregon until his retirement.

Paul was known for his great talent for building cars and remote-control planes from scratch. Paul's proudest achievement was winning the Portland Roadster show in 1978. Paul had a quick wit and a great sense of humor.

Due to Covid, a celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
