Raelene Young of Oregon City passed away on New Years Eve 2023. She was born in Kealakekua, Hawaii to Frank and Midori (Okimoto) Ushiroda on November 29, 1950.
After high school she earned a B.A. in Education from Southern Oregon State College. She taught in Hawaii and in several schools in Clackamas County.
Raelene married Russel Young on July 3, 1976 and they raised two boys, Ryan and Robb.
Raelene was preceeded in death by her parents and son Ryan. She is survived by Russell and Robb, sister Lori and brothers Randy, Scott, and Palani, all of Hawaii. She also leaves behind many close friends and former students.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 24th at the Backstop Bar & Grill, in the Antonia Ballroom, from 1:00-4:00. Please drop in anytime during those hours to pay your respects and to share a fond memory of Raelene. No formal presentation will occur, but a slideshow and some of Raelene's favorite music will be playing continuously. Light appetizers, refreshments, and Hawaiian treats will be served.
