Obituary

Rebecca Lynn (Reed) Olla
August 25, 1969 – July 6, 2024

Rebecca Olla passed away suddenly on July 6, 2024, while visiting her fiancé, Allan Force, at his apartment. A faulty lead in her pacemaker is believed to be the cause of her death which, mercifully, was quick and painless.

Rebecca was born in Santa Clara, California, on August 25, 1969, to Lew and Judie Reed with big, blue eyes and bright red hair and brimming with mischief. She grew up exposed to English sitcoms like Black Adder and Looney Tunes cartoons which helped shape her humor to favor slapstick and innuendo and she was deadly fast with a torrent of puns once you got her started.

Rebecca had a flair for the dramatic which showed in her art, writing, and photography, as well as her talented portrayals in school plays. While in high school she won three summer scholarships to a prestigious art institute in San Francisco where she thrived. She was a very talented artist, writer, actor, and photographer. Some of her photography and art can be found at:

She met Robert Olla in junior college, and they quickly fell in love. They lived together happily for many years before getting married in 2003 and had nine happy years of marriage before Robert passed away in 2012.

Rebecca was diagnosed with a combination of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder in her early twenties. Although she struggled with the limitations those illnesses caused in her life, she also strived to find ways to educate people about mental illness in an effort to help others.

Rebecca spent much of her life in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2017 she moved to Oregon City with her family. Shortly after moving to Oregon, she met her fiancé, Allan Force. Her love of him is evident in the many photographs she took of him and together with him.

She will be remembered for her wonderfully sharp sense of humor and her warm and giving nature.

Rebecca will be missed by her family: her mother, Judie; her sisters, Jen Hazen and Kate Reed; her nephew, Oscar; her two brothers-in-law, John Hazen and Ricardo To-Omer; and by her fiancé Allan Force.

The family will be having a small memorial on November 23, 2024. Call (503) 908-1636 for additional information. If you wish to donate in Rebecca's memory, please donate to a program that helps children and teens with mental illness or to Cat Adoption Team ( https://catadoptionteam.org ), where she got her beloved cat Izzy, who is now living with Allan.
