Passed away at the age of 72. He is survived by his wife and companion of 40 years Elaine, mother Dorothy Ruth, daughter Martha Saddler (Steve), daughter Michelle Mousel (Mike), Sister Deby Abbot (Ross), Julie Hirning, brother Gary Ruth (Kim), granddaughters Allison and Rebecca. Along with many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Richard graduated from Gresham High School and went onto Mt Hood Community College where he graduated with an Associates Degree in Mechanics. Then he went on and joined the Air Force until he retired. He then went to NCR where he finished out his working career.
After retiring from NCR in 2002, Richard began following his passion of gold mining. He belonged to the Portland Gold Prospectors Club and served as president once or twice.
There will be Celebration of Life held:
March 27, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Sandy Seventh Day Adventist Church. The address is 18575 SE Langensand Road, Sandy, Oregon.
Richard will be laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery.
