Obituary

Roger Anthony Stevenson was born to H.E.Stevenson and Louise Sickman on March 19, 1949, in Washington State. They lived in Ritzville, WA for a time before moving to Oregon, settling in Milwaukie, OR, where he graduated from Milwaukie High School in 1967. He met his wife, Carolyn Fuson, and they were married on June 20, 1969. Through their life together he served in the Oregon National Guard and graduated from Portland State University with a bachelor's degree of Science in Business. He spent 30 years working at United Grocers, retiring in 2011.

He also spent many hours involved with sports. He played soccer on a men's team, ran marathons, and watched hours of his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. Family vacations were always a big event alternating between the beach and the high desert with adventures that ranged from the sand dunes to Crater Lake. Woodworking, interest in regional geology, and serving at his church, Zion Lutheran, occupied much of his time.

Roger passed on July 8, 2024, due to complications of Pneumonia. He was preceded in death by both parents, and his wife, Carolyn.

He is survived by daughters, Sandy Kahut (husband Andy), and Beth Smith, Grandchildren, Jordan and Jacob Kahut, and Kylie and Kelsee Smith, Brother Stephen (wife Sharon) Stevenson. He will be laid to rest next to Carolyn at Zion Memorial Cemetery in Canby, OR.
