Obituary

With sadness in our hearts, yet joy in the promise of eternal life, we share that our beloved father, Rolf Christensen, went home to be with the Lord on April 18, 2026.

Born on June 16, 1940, Rolf grew up in Kent WA. His parents were Chris and Freda Christensen and sister Sylvia. He married Janice Repp on September 18, 1965. Together they created a God centered life full of love, respect and devotion for 46 years until she passed in 2011.

A gifted athlete, Rolf enjoyed playing many sports. As he raised their three daughters, Debbie, Diane and Dawn, he found great joy in coaching their teams. He also dedicated 20 years to teaching middle school history and shop, leaving a lasting impact on countless students. Growing up, Rolf went fishing with his dad, who was a commercial fisherman. After he retired, he enjoyed taking friends, family, and neighbors out on his boat to fish.

Rolf's commitment to ministry was a cornerstone of his life. He faithfully served as a jail chaplain for 28 years and participated in missionary work in South America alongside his lifelong friend, Elvin Borg.

On November 3, 2012, Rolf married Elisabeth (Liz). Their marriage was built on a shared foundation of faith and prayer—a devotion that remained steadfast throughout their years together. Rolf was warmly embraced by Liz's family, who cherish memories of his kindness, family gatherings, and shared love of sports.

He dedicated his life to serving God and others. Rolf was truly one of the kindest people anyone could meet, and his compassion, faith, and generosity touched countless lives. His legacy of love and service will continue to live on in all who knew him.

He is lovingly survived by his three daughters: Debbie Brent (John), Diane Lewis (Jeremy), and Dawn Imes (Chris); and his four grandchildren: Sawyer and Kylie Lewis, and Kaden and Kenna Brent. Through his marriage to Elisabeth, he also gained three sons and their families: Steve Estes (Michelle), Rick Estes (Michelle), and David Estes (Erika), along with seven step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren—forming what he lovingly considered a modern-day Brady Bunch.

Rolf was also close with his Norwegian relatives and took great pride in his heritage.

Rolf's legacy of compassion and generosity touched many lives. God's promise in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future," was reflected in a life lived well for Christ—a life devoted to sharing His word, praying for others, and serving faithfully. Well done, Rolf.

A service to honor and celebrate Rolf's life will be held on Sunday, April 26th, at 4:00 PM at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 9800 SE 92nd Ave, Happy Valley, OR 97086.
