Obituary

Ronald Louis Tosi was born to Louis Tosi and Enid Mary Caniparoli on June 13, 1937 in Portland, Oregon. He attended Kellogg Elementary School and graduated from Franklin High School in 1955. In high school he sang in the choir and played football. Ron joined the Army in 1958 and served as an MP at Fort Gordon, Georgia.

In 1962 he became a member of the Portland Police Bureau, where he proudly served as a patrol officer and detective for 28 years. He told many interesting tales of incidents which occurred while on duty. After retirement, he enjoyed family trips, camping, and traveling to Europe. A longtime military history buff, he was active in HAMF and Oregon Arms where he made many friends and found items to add to his collection.

Ron loved vintage cars and was the proud owner of a 1937 Chevrolet and a 1965 Mustang. He was the original owner of the Mustang, which was driven later by his wife and children and is still in the family.

His friends recall that he was true gentleman: kind, caring, respectful, honorable and steadfast. The Brits would call such a person "a good man."

Ron passed away after a short illness on September 29th. He is survived by his wife Margie, daughter Amy L'Manian, son Christopher Tosi, and grandchildren Megan L'Manian (Daniel Garcia), Trent L'Manian, and Victoria L'Manian. He is also survived by his sister Mary Moran (Michael Moran), niece Gina Russell (Michael Russell), several cousins and other relatives.

He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church located at 822 Washington Street, Oregon City, Oregon. His funeral will be held there on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 11:00 am. The service will be live streamed at www. stpaulsoregoncity.org and follow the link to youtube.
