Sally Stone, 73 (forever 29 in her heart), of Oregon City, Oregon died August 28, 2022, at her home.

Sally was born on July 11, 1949, in Portland, Oregon to Thomas and Helen Chassaing. Sally graduated from Cleveland High School in 1967 and worked in the banking industry for nearly 20 years, including First National Bank & the Federal Reserve Bank. Sally met her husband, Rick Stone, in 1967 in Sheridan, Oregon. They married 4 years later at the Trees of Mystery in Klamath, California on July 11, 1971.

Rick and Sally lived in Yuba City, California early on in their marriage where they had their first son, Troy, in 1972. Shortly after his birth, they moved back to the Portland area to settle down and start their life together. In 1978, they built their dream home in Oregon City, Oregon where they still reside. Their youngest son, Travis was born soon thereafter in 1979.

Sally prided herself on being an amazing, nurturing mother. Despite the many health challenges she faced in life, she never let that stop her from caring for her family. Additionally, Sally cared deeply for her community and was incredibly passionate about volunteering. She volunteered at Portland Adventist Hospital, Trinity Lutheran Church in the Stephen Ministry, and Pioneer Community Center along with many others.

As Troy and Travis got older, Sally wanted to take all her learnings in life, both the highs and lows, and memorialize them in a book. In 2009, she self-published her autobiography, "It's All Good…A Spiritual Walk (and roll)." Sally chose to have a positive outlook on life despite her circumstances and that pure joy and zest for life was evident through her big smile and immense kindness. She continually looked for inventive ways to stay independent and accomplish the everyday tasks that many of us take for granted.

She was preceded in death by her parents and both brothers, Lloyd "Ren" and John Chassaing. Sally is survived by her loving husband Rick, son Troy and his husband Auston and Travis and his wife Angie and their two daughters Breauna and Audrey.

The celebration of life service for Sally will be held on September 17, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 10956 SE 25th Avenue Milwaukie, Oregon 97222. All are welcome to attend and may wear something red in honor of Sally. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Alzheimer's Association which was a cause close to Sally's heart.
