Sandra Joy "Sandy" (Mammen) Marble, 81, passed away September 8, 2026, in Oregon City, Oregon.

Born February 5, 1945, in Ontario, Oregon, to Beulah Bell (Butts) Mammen and Albert John "Bob" Mammen, Sandy grew up on the family potato farm near Weiser, Idaho. She graduated from Weiser High School in 1963 and from the College of Idaho in 1967 with a bachelor's degree in English and a minor in music. She later earned a Master's in Counseling and Education from Monmouth College of Education.

Sandy and Earl Eugene Marble had known one another since the first grade and married August 12, 1967. They shared 59 years of marriage and made their longtime home in Oregon City. Sandy devoted her career to education as a teacher, English as a Second Language instructor and school counselor, working in several Oregon schools and at Clackamas Community College before retiring around 2012. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she served in several churches through music, children's ministry and wherever she saw a need.

Sandy and Earl built a family through birth, adoption and an open home. Their children are Ana Delsy Corona (Juan), Camille Amber Rodriguez (Toby), Ean Guy Reves (Jen Hanlon), and Gaven Earl Marble (Megan). They also welcomed foster daughters Joni, Amanda and Kristi Brush, and at times opened their home to refugee families establishing new lives in the United States. Many of their children's friends came to know Earl and Sandy simply as "Mom and Dad."

Sandy is survived by Earl; their four children and spouses; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her brother, Dale Mammen, and his wife, Ginny. She will be remembered for her love of family, her concern for people who needed help, and a lifetime of making room for others.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Grand View Baptist Church, 14855 S. Leland Rd., Beavercreek, Oregon 97004. A gathering will follow in the church foyer.
