Susan Ellen Archerd (Rorabeck) passed away July 23rd, 2018 from complications of ALS. She is survived by her husband Bob, and children; Katherine Gilpin, Karen Childs, Brad Melhus and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Ben Melhus on March 12th, 2018 and her parents Kenneth and Katherine Rorabeck. She was a graduate of Grant High School (1959), and later Phagans School of Hair Design.

Susan was an avid horse enthusiast and operated a training and horse boarding facility for several years near Oregon City. She loved all horses but was particularly an enthusiast of the Arabian horse. She was an active participant in showing and breeding Arabians. Susan along with friends and family, loved trail riding and put in lots of miles riding on horseback.

She also had a passion for dogs and was involved in breeding and showing Dobermans and Boxers. Over the years she also owned a variety of dogs including Poodles, a Miniature Schnauzer, a Border Collie, and a Great Dane.

Susan was a hair stylist for several years in Lake Oswego and worked a few years a Techtronics prior to operating the horse business.

Susan was a strong yet, loving and caring person and will be missed by all who knew her. Family and Friends encourage prayers and donations that will help find a cure for the horrible disease ALS and soft tissue Sarcomas.
