Obituary

Our father, Ted Grant Hanthorn died in Oregon City on December 30, 2023 at the age of 86. He passed away due to complications from cancer.

He was born in Oregon City on January 22, 1937, to Charles and Mary Hanthorn.

He graduated from Milwaukie High School in 1956, where he participated in FFA and the Auto Club. He worked at Crown Zellerbach for 47 years. Prior to that he was at Bob Lanpheres' shop garage working on motorcycles.

Ted was a mans' man, stoic and very witty. Dad was very well liked by everyone that had the pleasure of being called friend. He really loved his dog Blitz, who was a big German Shepherd.

Dad was a world traveler, Belize and Germany are just a couple of the places he visited. He loved working on and racing his dirt bikes. Dad built and worked on restoring vintage automobiles. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed planting and caring for his garden.

Dad joined the Mt. Scott Motorcycle Club in 1964. He was a Super Donor and donated more than 32 gallons of blood to the American Red Cross during his lifetime.

Ted is survived by his brother Tom (Pat) Hanthorn of Newberg, Oregon.

His children: Chuck (Irma) Hanthorn of Beaverton, Oregon, Connie (Ed) Aldrich of Inkom, Idaho and Robin Barnett of Oregon City, Oregon.

His grandchildren: Amber (Beau) Gunter of Boise Idaho, Keith (Heather) Aldrich of Inkom Idaho, Krystal (Shane) Jephson of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Arianna (Tyler) Sykes of Sagle, Idaho, Sam (Tanisha Bucher) Hanthorn of Gladstone, Oregon, Chastine Hanthorn of Vancouver, Washington, and Devyn Barnett of Page, Arizona.

His great grandchildren: Corbin Aldrich of Inkom Idaho, Jade Gunter of Pullman Washington, Alexis Gunter of Boise, Idaho, Avrie Aldrich of Inkom, Idaho, Baeley Sykes of Sagle Idaho, Rylie Jephson, Emma Jephson and Maddax Jephson of Idaho Falls, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ladonna Hanthorn 1995, son Keith Hanthorn 1960, his sister Marie Rosinski 1986, brothers, Raymond (Ace) 1984, John 2013, and Clifford 2014.

Dad's wishes were to be cremated; we will be privately spreading his ashes. A Celebration of his life will be held on June 15th, 2024 1:00-4:00 PM at Ted's home at 16341 S. Stolz Road. Bring Your Own Chair & Bottle!
