Terry Lee Voss, died peacefully at the home he built in Oregon City on July 5, 2023 following a brief and quiet battle with cancer. Born July 16, 1946 to Avis Tilbury and Lawrence Voss, Terry was in the middle of the pack of six boys. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Rick and Randy Boehnen, and his son, Derek Voss. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Renee, their daughter, Rebecca Voss, former spouses, Sandy Lutz and Marie Gould Voss, children (with Sandy), Kelly Pearce, Terry V. Voss (Tami), Tyson Voss (Mirna), Shelley McDargh (Mike), as well as 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and brothers Mike Voss, Dennis Voss and Tom Boehnen.
After moving around as a child, and spending his young-adult years in California, Terry moved to Oregon in the mid-1990's where he and Renee built a large, well-known construction company. His love for his family and animals ran deep, as did his orneriness, practical jokes and political discussions. Never one to sit still for long, Terry always had a project he was building for Renee, himself, kids or grandkids. He took great pride in his work and reputation and his career in building wood houses came full circle when he began spending his free time cultivating an apple orchard and later an entire forest at his home.
A service and reception will be held on July 28, 2023 at 11:00 am at Hillside Chapel, 1306 Seventh St., Oregon City, OR 97045. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Terry's name to Hopkins Demonstration Forest in Oregon City which focuses on education in sustainably managed forests.
