Therese Hartfeil passed away Tuesday, June 13 in Oregon City at the age of 88. Born in Neudorf, Germany to Jakob and Maria Schramm on April 14, 1929, Therese immigrated to the United States when she was 23. She married Erich Hartfeil, started a family, and settled in Oregon City, where she lived for the rest of her life. Therese, aka Resi and Oma, was at her happiest when taking care of her family. She loved making and serving food to all. She was active in church, notably as a Sunday school teacher. She regularly attended Zion Lutheran Church and was also a member Southridge Foursquare Church. Therese belonged to both the German Aid Society and the German Club.
Therese is survived by her sons, Harold Hartfeil (LeeAnn) and Ron Hartfeil (Debra); grandchildren, Derich, Adam, Britta and Jordan; and sister, Ingrid Werner (Erich). She is preceded in death by her husband, Erich Hartfeil.
A Celebration of Therese's Life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday June 27 at the SouthLake Church in West Linn, OR.
